Twenty years in the hills above San Juan del Sur, growing a community around the land.

EXPLORE THE COLLECTION

El Encanto del Sur began in 2006 with a simple idea: build a place that grows with the people who live in it. Today it’s an ecosystem of homes, a bilingual school, TreeCasa Resort and shared gathering places, spread across 450 acres in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, with nearly 40% kept as untouched forest.

Families and individuals from around the world already call El Encanto home, and lots are available across our phases, including our newest, Paseo. If you’re curious, come and see it for yourself. We’ll arrange a tour and answer any questions about our lots, our home designs or life in San Juan del Sur.

It’s an open invitation. Welcome, one and all!

When El Encanto del Sur was founded in 2006, a set of ideas were laid down to guide growth: embrace sustainability and support diversity. This philosophy becomes visibly apparent as soon as you visit. Acres of raw, untouched forest provide green corridors between lots and account for nearly 40% of the entire development, and soon our solar grid will be ready to power the homes of our residents. Young and old, local and international, the emergent mix of individuals and families who have recognized the opportunity here and set out to build an energetic, adventurous community, is stunning.

If you’d like to visit El Encanto, we recommend a stay at TreeCasa Resort. Its canopy suites and farm-to-table restaurant sit at the heart of the El Encanto village, just over the hill from our Sueños phase, with pools, jungle trails and live performances close at hand.
