Culture and Place
Much like Costa Rica, Nicaragua is known for its beaches, volcanoes and twin coasts on the Pacific and Carribean. In fact, it’s more like Costa Rica was 20 years ago: less commercialized and more open spaces. The culture is preserved in the traditional cuisine, the colonial architecture of Granada and Leon, the coffee and tobacco towns and ranches of Esteli and Matagalpa, and the idyllic, isolated Corn Islands.
